Bread Program

Each Sunday evening, one of our St. James’ families stops by the Panera restaurant in town to load up their “Dough-nations” into one of our cars.  Panera is a (national) restaurant corporation that, at the end of each day, donates whatever bread and pastries that have not been sold to various charities.  St. James’ day is Sunday.  Panera staff packs up boxes of unsold baked goods and deliver them to the MANNA food bank at "Hands on Hartford" on Bartholomew Ave. in the Parkville section of Hartford each Monday morning.  There are currently 4 families that rotate in a monthly schedule to accomplish this ministry.  David Buddington develops our schedule and keeps us organized.  If you would like to join our team to help address food insecurity in Hartford, contact Blakeley Crevoiserat or Debbie O’Donnell.
