Episcopal Church

Outreach

Outreach activities are very special at St. James’.  The committee is open to all parishioners who wish to be a part of outreach activities throughout the year.  Members can participate in as many or as few activities as desired.  Outreach oversees regular activities that help fund outreach such as plant sales, bake sales, soup sales and an annual event such as the “Spring Fling”.  The group is also responsible for collecting and delivering non-perishable food items to several area food pantries as well as delivering weekly bread donations from Panera to Hands on Hartford.  Faith in Action’s major outreach activities include Building a Beloved Community, Carol’s Closet, Lunch in the Park, River East Resettlement Alliance, and Glastonbury Links Together.  Please click on each tab to learn more!

The Outreach Committee is pleased to share the work that has been done from January-June, 2023.  The sheet below also lists volunteer opportunities.  St. James' is doing God's work inside and outside our walls.

November 2023 Update

Through Outreach, St. James' made a financial contribution to the Maui Humane Society. Many animals lost or harmed by the fires are being treated by the Society. Here is a letter of appreciation from the Maui Humane Society:
