Music Notes
In addition to The Lord’s Prayer, Psalm 23 is probably the most widely known biblical passage. The Lord is my shepherd has been the inspiration for thousands of musical pieces through the years. Our setting Sunday is by William Bradley Roberts, distinguished church musician and Professor Emeritus of Church Music at Virginia Theological Seminary (Episcopal), Alexandria. The words are a paraphrase of Psalm 23 by Dorothy Ann Thrupp published in 1836.
