Building a Beloved Community

Racial Healing, Justice and Reconciliation

The mission and vision of the “Building a Beloved Community” team is to practice God’s way of love as we seek to transform the culture of racism, hatred, and violence so that all people are treated with justice, respect, compassion and kindness. We hope to create real change through reconciliation, justice and healing in our individual lives, faith community, and our relationships with all others, right here in Glastonbury and beyond.

The “Building a Beloved Community” team invites all to join in contributing your ideas to fulfill the mission and vision as we build Beloved Community. For more information, please contact Becky Lee (balee@cox.net).

Our Actions:

• To identify, challenge and change the prevailing culture of white supremacy, implicit bias, and systemic racism in our own lives, in our parish life and in the life of our  wider community. We will partner with other groups in the Glastonbury community andsurrounding communities to engage in truth-telling, advocacy, racial healing, and reconciliation.

•  We have completed one Sacred Ground series and are hoping to offer more sessions in the future.
