St. James Episcopal Church ~ Glastonbury, CT
Welcome PDF Print Email

Welcome to the community of St. James’ Episcopal Church. It is our mission to grow spiritually and spread Christ’s love. Whoever you are, and wherever you are on your faith journey, we welcome you! We are diverse in age, but strong in Spirit. We have different beliefs about God and the Church. We come from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and towns. Our family compositions aren’t all the same. We celebrate our diversity.

We honor the dignity of every human being, offer pastoral care, and prayers for one another. We try to speak the truth in love, and listen to what the Spirit is saying to God’s people. We feel our strengths lie in the areas of worship, Christian education, and fellowship. We are eager to welcome and help newcomers find a comfortable place in the life of our community. Please let any of the clergy, staff, or lay leaders know how we might help you to grow spiritually and spread Christ’s love. Welcome!

Who We Are PDF Print Email

Welcome to St. James’ Episcopal Church!  At St. James’ in Glastonbury, we embrace Jesus’ personal ministry of radical hospitality and welcoming as our spiritual way of life.  We actively practice this ministry in all that we are and in all that we do.  As a faith community, we believe that anyone who seeks a deeper relationship with God is welcome to walk that journey with us.  At St James,’ our mission is focused on growing together spiritually – particularly in our diversity – and in sharing Christ’s unconditional love throughout our community and beyond.

Our weekend services range liturgically from the traditional on Sunday mornings to the contemporary and informal on Sunday afternoons at 5:00PM.  We strive continually to enhance our worship experiences by embracing our many gifts of creativity, through song and instrumental music, and especially in striving to deliver relevance in our preaching.  Above all, at St. James,’ we always aim to insure that joy and our love for God is central in our worship services.  This is where we are all united in Christ and we hope you will join us!

Come, check us out!  Our hearts, minds, and arms are open and we’re waiting for you!

All are welcome.
